Communication Techniques

This means how will you communicate the theme of your MTP.

Most importantly, you must use a variety of sources presented in a contemporay layout. This may include (but is not limited to):

Visual Images

You must use visual images from a variety of sources. This means not only using images from your focus area (eg. not only clothing images for Apparel). You should search for visual inspiration from all around you, this may include:

- Photographs

- Fashion (historical/cultural/contemporary)

- Movies

- Nature - landscape, plants and animals

- Patterns and Prints

- Art

- Objects

Text

You will use text to discuss your Focus Area, Creative/Innotavtive techniques and Historical/Cultural and Contemporary Influences. You should use headings above each sections so it is clear and easy to understand.

You may also like to use individual words, quotes or song lyrics that are relevant and inspirational to your design.

Remember, font choice is important. Large amounts of text must be easy to read. The font used for larger words and quotes help convey feeling and emotion.

You should have at least 4-6 sources of inspiration. Each source must be somehow reflected in your MTP.

Each source should be labelled and a brief description of what specically about the source has inspired you.

Overall, your Design Inspiration must be eye catching, easy to understand and reflect to emotion of your MTP. Play around with the layout before securing it down.

Examples

Magazines use inspiration pages all the time to convey a certain look and feel, often to promote particular items to consumers. Obviously your Design Inspiration will have more text, but see the examples below for ideas how to group images in harmony and create a theme.
