Evaluating Properties and Performance

 

You must critially evaluate the properties and performance of fabric, yarn and fibres used in relation to the end purpose. 

 

Tips

• Use the information from the textbook for the properties of your fabrics, however do not copy! You must choose what the properites of the fabric are suitable specifically to YOUR MTP. Think about WHY your fabric suitable sleepwear, is it breathable, does it wrinkle?

• Use a table and break it into sections for fabric, yarn and fibres. 

• Remember the difference between fabric, yarn and fibre. Eg. cotton fibre may be spun into a different yarn and woven into a different fabric in many different ways that are suitable for different end uses.
